Warr Acres is a unique enclave city defined by its independent spirit and neighborhood charm. Incorporated in 1948, the municipality was named after its visionary developer, C.B. Warr, who envisioned a well-planned suburban community to accommodate the post-World War II housing boom.

Geographically compact, the city is entirely surrounded by Oklahoma City and Bethany. Despite its location within a massive metro network, Warr Acres maintains its own distinct municipal identity, complete with its own dedicated police, fire, and civic services. Macarthur Boulevard and Northwest Expressway serve as the primary commercial arteries, hosting a diverse array of local businesses, multi-ethnic eateries, and retail spaces.

Shawnee serves as a vibrant regional hub that beautifully blends deep historical roots with small-town appeal. Originally settled in the late 19th century following the Land Run of 1891, the city was shaped by a unique convergence of Native American heritages and early American settlers. Today, the city is the county seat of Pottawatomie County and serves as the headquarters for the Absentee Shawnee Tribe and Citizen Potawatomi Nation.

With a growing population of around 32,000 residents, contemporary Shawnee successfully balances its historic identity with modern growth. It has evolved into a thriving micropolitan area anchored by major institutions, including Oklahoma Baptist University and a robust aerospace manufacturing presence tied to nearby Tinker Air Force Base.
