Brazil and the Netherlands will be represented at “ONE: Warrior’s Code,” the first ONE Championship event to take place in Indonesia in 2020. Indonesia will also be represented along with Australia, Cambodia, China, Cyprus, England, Italy, Japan, Moldova, Russia, South Korea, Thailand, Timor Leste, the United States and Vietnam.
ONE Championship will hold “ONE: Warrior’s Code” at the Istora Senayan in Jakarta, Indonesia on February 7, 2020. Featured on the fight card are not only mixed martial arts fights but also ONE Super Series contests, which are kickboxing and Muay Thai bouts.
Among the MMA fights is between Leandro “Leo” Ataides, 33, of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and Reinier “The Dutch Knight” de Ridder, 29, of Breda, North Brabant, Netherlands. They will compete in the middleweight division.
This will be de Ridder’s third ONE Championship fight. When he joined the Singapore-based martial arts organization in 2019, he defeated two opponents namely “King Kong Warrior” Fan Rong, 25, of Harbin, China and Gilberto “Giba” Galvão, 37, of Balneario Camboriu, Santa Catarina, Brazil.
Born in the Netherlands on September 7, 1990, de Ridder started his judo training when he was 5 years old and he is now training out of Combat Brothers in Breda. He has been competing professionally since 2013.
Still undefeated, de Ridder currently holds a professional MMA record of 11 wins and 0 loss. On the other hand, Ataides has 11 wins and 3 losses.
Born in Rio de Janeiro on May 4, 1986, Ataides has been competing professionally since 2008. He joined ONE Championship in 2013. He is training out of Nova União in Rio de Janeiro.
Ataides is riding a three-bout winning streak. “ONE: Warrior’s Code” marks his ninth ONE Championship bout.
Headlining “ONE: Warrior’s Code” are Petchmorakot Petchyindee Academy, 26, of Thailand and Jamal “Kherow” Yusupov, 36, of Russia. They will compete for the inaugural ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Championship.
