Ruben Fernandez, 47, of the Dominican Republic is accused of murdering David Patrick Burdette of Anchorage, Alaska, United States on the evening of May 20, 1995. They were reportedly members of rival gangs.
That evening, Burdette went to a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant in Midtown, Anchorage. He was later fatally shot in the parking lot of the fast food restaurant.
Burdette allegedly got into an argument with Fernandez at the restaurant before he was fatally shot. The victim was rushed to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage where he died.
On April 8, 1995, Burdette turned 18. He is Roger Sena and Roxanne Burdette‘s son and Guy Kamholz and Maria Burdette‘s brother. David and and his girlfriend Hailey Stack have two children namely Markis Stack and Hailey Stack.
In September 1995, Fernandez was indicted on a charge of first-degree murder. After the indictment, he went missing.
On February 24, 2022, U.S. Marshals Service agents arrested Fernandez in the Dominican Republic. He was extradited to Anchorage to face trial and booked into the Anchorage Correctional Complex in Anchorage.
Bail for Fernandez was set at $500,000. If convicted at trial, he faces a maximum sentence of 99 years imprisonment.
