Diamond Langi, 31, of New Zealand and Tonga took to social media to express her support for the Miss Pacific Islands 2024 candidates. The winner will be crowned at the Sports Complex in Yaren, Nauru on the evening of February 3, 2023.
“Sending my love to all the beautiful contestants tonight in Miss Pacific Islands,” Langi wrote hours before the coronation ceremony. “Who ever wins let’s support her and cheer for her in her reign. ‘Ofa lahi atu.”
Seven women are competing for the Miss Pacific Islands 2024 title. They are Judy Fa’afetai Taunu’u, 23, of American Samoa, Claret Taonang Chong-Gum, 26, of Marshall Islands, Rosita Rokobuli, 19, of Nauru, Dee-Raya Antonio of Palau, Tyla Singirok, 21, of Papua New Guinea, Moemoana Safa’ato’a Schwenke, 23, of Samoa and Sitita Hamilton Vaenuku of Tonga.
Langi is one of the beauty queens from the Asia-Pacific region who competed in Miss Universe and Miss Earth. On November 12, 2013, Langi represented Tonga at Face of Beauty International 2013, competed against 36 other candidates at Mimosa Pattaya in Na Chom Thian, Sattahip, Chonburi, Thailand and won the title.
On November 4, 2017, Langi represented Tonga at Miss Earth 2017 and competed against 84 other candidates at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines. She finished in the Top 16.
On August 17, 2019, Langi competed against 13 other Miss Universe New Zealand 2019 candidates at the Dorothy Winstone Centre of Auckland Girls’ Grammar School in Auckland. She won the title.
On December 8, 2019, Langi represented New Zealand at Miss Universe 2019 and competed against 89 other candidates at the Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. She was unplaced.
