Ariagny Idayari Daboín Ricardo, 27, of Maracay, Aragua, Venezuela is one of the Miss World 2023 candidates set to compete in India. It is the 71st edition of the oldest active international beauty pageant.
Miss World Organization chairwoman and chief executive officer Julia Morley, 84, of London, England, United Kingdom will attend the pre-event press conference in New Delhi, India on February 9, 2024. She will be joined by Stephanie Del Valle, Manushi Chhillar. Vanessa Ponce de Leon, Toni-Ann Singh and Karolina Bielawska, the respective Miss World winners in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2021.
Including Daboín, 118 women will compete for the Miss World 2023 title. They are expected to arrive in the Asian country before the competition officially starts on February 18, 2024.
On March 9, 2024, the coronation ceremony will be held at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, India. Among Daboín’s fellow candidates is Chimène Moladja, 24, who will make history as the first ever Miss World candidate from Togo.
Daboín is a clinical psychologist and a model. On October 28, 2021, she competed against 17 other Miss Venezuela World 2021 candidates at the Estudio 1 de Venevisión, Caracas, Venezuela and won the title.
If Daboín wins Miss World 2023, she will inherit the title from Bielawska. Crowned on March 16, 2022 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, the reigning queen was not able to crown her successor from 2022 to 2023.
This is the second time India is hosting Miss World. On November 23, 1996, Irene Sliva of Greece was crowned Miss World 1996 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, India.
Currently, Venezuela has 33 Miss World placements. These include the coronations of Susana Duijm in 1955, Pilin Leon in 1981, Astrid Carolina Herrera in 1984, Ninibeth Leal in 1991, Jacqueline Aguilera in 1995 and Ivian Sarcos in 2011.
