Arthur Hoy Jr.‘s wife Halima Muñoz Hoy, 29, is Miss Universe Belize 2024. She was born and raised in Port Loyola, Belize City, Belize.

On April 13, 2024, Halima competed against eight other Miss Universe Belize 2024 candidates at the Belize City Centre in Belize City. She won the title.

Runner-up to Halima was Maryam Abdul-Qawiyy, 38, of Belize City. The second runner-up was Myra Sibrian, 28, of Belmopan, Belize.

Fany Mejia, 30, of Belize City was Miss Congeniality. The Miss Photogenic award was given to Shaenna Gilharry, 23, who represented the Belizean community of Los Angeles, California, United States.

This is the 32nd edition of Miss Universe Belize and its first edition under the directorship of Miss Universe Belize 2019 Destinee Arnold. One of the judges is Miss Earth 2021 Destiny Wagner, 28, the first ever Belizean to win a grand slam international beauty pageant.

As a certified prenatal and postnatal fitness coach and personal trainer, Halima is a health and fitness advocate. She hopes to provide knowledge and aid to Belizeans in less fortunate situations, about the physiological issues that are common in these communities such as hypertension, heart diseases, Alzheimer’s and diabetes. 

In September 2024, Halima will represent Belize at Miss Universe 2024 in Mexico. She is the first married woman to represent Belize in Miss Universe.

Representing Belize, Sarita Diana Acosta finished in the Top 12 at Miss Universe 1979. It is the first and still the only Miss Universe placement of the Caribbean country.
