Thirteen of the Miss Earth 2024 candidates are from Africa. This marks the first time Algeria is represented in the international beauty pageant based in Metro Manila, Philippines.
Robi Domingo will host the coronation ceremony at the Okada Manila in Parañaque, Metro Manila on November 9, 2024. This is the 24th edition of Miss Earth, which was launched in 2001.
Winfred Omwakwe of Kenya is the first ever Miss Earth from Africa. She was runner-up to Džejla Glavović of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the second edition but she assumed the title after the winner was dethroned.
On December 22, 2023, Drita Ziri of Albania won the 23rd edition at the Vạn Phúc City Water Music Square in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Also crowned were Miss Earth-Air 2023 Yllana Marie Aduana of the Philippines, Miss Earth-Water 2023 Đỗ Thị Lan Anh of Vietnam and Miss Earth-Fire 2023 Cora Bliault of Thailand.
