Akysanna Vany Vaz da Veiga, 25, of Santa Catarina, Santiago, Cabo Verde is Miss International Africa 2024. She won the title in Tokyo, Japan.

On April 2, 2022, Veiga won Miss Praia Maria 2022 at Auditório Nacional in Praia, Santiago. On September 3, 2022, she won Miss Cabo Verde International 2022 at Largo Amílcar Cabral in Praia.

Miss International 2024

On August 5, 2024, Veiga graduated from the Jean Piaget University of Cape Verde in Praia with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. In October 2024, she underwent a beauty pageant training in Metro Manila, Philippines.

On November 12, 2024, Veiga represented Cabo Verde at Miss International 2024 at the Tokyo Dome City Hall in Tokyo. She competed against 70 other candidates including Mei Ueda, 26, of Japan.

Ueda and Veiga were crowned the continental queens of Asia Pacific and Africa, respectively. Also crowned were Miss International Americas 2024 Shelbi Byrnes Garcia, 27, of Cuba and Miss International Europe 2024 Hannah Kathleen Hawkshaw, 27, of Ireland.

The four continental queens finished in the Top 20. They won their titles through the votes of their fellow candidates.

Selina McCloskey, 23, of Australia, Bayaraa Suvd-Erdene, 21, of Mongolia and Oceana Lin-Kurie, 24, of Taiwan also finished in the Top 20. Samantha Poole, 21, of New Zealand finished in the Top 8.

It was Huỳnh Thị Thanh Thủy, 22, of Vietnam who was crowned Miss International 2024. She is the first Vietnamese beauty queen to win the title.

Runner-up to Than Thuy was  Camila Roca, 26, of Bolivia. The respective second, third and fourth runners-up were Alba Perez, 23, of Spain, Sakra del Valle Guerrero Roldán, 24, of Venezuela and Sophia Kirana, 24, of Indonesia.
