Huỳnh Thị Thanh Thủy, 22, of Da Nang, Vietnam made history in Japan. She has been crowned the first ever Miss International titleholder from Vietnam.
On December 23, 2022, Huynh competed against 57 other Miss Vietnam 2022 candidates at the Phu Tho Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. She won the title.
Miss Vietnam previously represented Vietnam in Miss World. Huynh became the first Miss Vietnam to compete in Miss International.
Vietnam’s Huỳnh Thị Thanh Thủy wins Miss International 2024
Hosted by Maxwell Powers and Nahoko Bolden, the Miss International 2024 coronation ceremony was held at the Tokyo Dome City Hall in Tokyo, Japan on November 12, 2024. The show featured performances by Shinji Takeda and Little Glee Monster.
Including Huynh, a total of 71 women competed for the title. She was crowned by Miss International 2023 Andrea Rubio, who served as one of the judges.
Runner-up to Huynh was Camila Roca, 26, of Bolivia. The respective second, third and fourth runners-up were Alba Perez, 23, of Spain, Sakra del Valle Guerrero Roldán, 24, of Venezuela and Sophia Kirana, 24, of Indonesia.
Four continental queens, who were voted by their fellow candidates, were also crowned. They are Miss International Africa 2024 Akysanna Vany Vaz da Veiga, 25, of Cabo Verde, Miss International Americas 2024 Shelbi Byrnes Garcia, 27, of Cuba, Miss International Asia Pacific 2024 Mei Ueda, 26, of Japan and Miss International Europe 2024 Hannah Kathleen Hawkshaw, 27, of Ireland.
This is the 62nd edition of Miss International, which is based in Tokyo. Desara Hatija, 18, of Tirana, Albania made history as the competition’s first ever candidate from her home country.
