16th edition of Mister International
Nwajagu Chinemerem Samuel, 23, of Anambra, Nigeria won Mister International 2024 in Bangkok, Thailand on December 14, 2024. It is the 16th edition of the international beauty pageant founded by Alan Sim, who passed away on October 12, 2022.
Mister International 2023 Kim Goodburn of Thailand hosted the coronation ceremony with Anusith Sangnimnuan at the Island Hall of Fashion Island in Khan Na Yao, Bangkok. Nwajagu and 46 other candidates competed for the title.
Mister International 2013 José Anmer Paredes of Venezuela served as one of the judges. He was joined by Arci Muñoz, Jojo Bragais, Josh Yugen, Khana Kityadhiguna, Paisarn Aowsathaporn and Pradit Pradinunt.
Runner-up to Nwajagu was Nguyễn Mạnh Lân of Vietnam. Glenn Victor Sutanto of Indonesia was second runner-up.
This makes Nwajagu the first ever African to win Mister International. He became Nigeria’s Mister International 2024 candidate by winning Misters of Nigeria 2024 at the Lagos Oriental Hotel on Victoria Island in Lagos, Nigeria on June 16, 2024.
16 winners of Mister International
Wissam Hanna of Lebanon won the inaugural edition of Mister International on October 7, 2006 in Singapore. He crowned his successor Alan Bianco Martini of Brazil in Kuching, Malaysia on December 31, 2007.
On November 24, 2008, Martini crowned his successor Ngô Tiến Đoàn of Vietnam in Tainan, Taiwan. On December 19, 2009, Ngô’s successor Bruno Kettels of Bolivia was crowned in Taichung, Taiwan.
On November 30, 2010, Kettelts went to Jakarta, Indonesia to crown his successor Ryan Terry of Great Britain. On December 17, 2011, Terry went to Bangkok, Thailand to crown his successor César Curti.
On November 24, 2012, Curti went back to Bangkok to crown his successor Ali Hammoud of Lebanon. After Hammoud’s resignation, he was replaced by his runner-up Ron Teh of Singapore.
As Teh’s successor Paredes was crowned Mister International 2013 in Jakarta on November 21, 2013. Neil Perez of the Philippines was crowned Mister International 2014 in Ansan, Gyeonggi, South Korea on February 14, 2015.
On November 30, 2015, Perez crowned his successor Pedro Mendes of Switzerland in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines. On February 13, 2017, Paul Iskandar of Lebanon was crowned Mister International 2016 in Bangkok.
On April 30, 2018, Seung Hwan Lee of South Korea was crowned Mister International 2017 in Yangon, Myanmar. On February 25, 2019, Trịnh Văn Bảo of Vietnam was crowned Mister International 2018 in Pasay City.
From 2019 to 2021, Mister International went on hiatus amid the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. On October 30, 2022, Emmanuel “Manu” Franco of the Dominican Republic won the beauty pageant’s 14th edition in Quezon City, Metro Manila and on September 17, 2023, Goodburn won its 15th edition in Bangkok.
