Disa Duivestein is the 14th Miss South Africa and the 12th beauty queen to represent South Africa in Miss World. She is originally from Athlone Park, eThekwini, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa,
While employed as a secretary in Umbogintwini, eThekwini, Duivestein won Miss South Africa 1967. On March 23, 2025, she turned 58.
Miss South Africa 1967
South African Pictorial held Miss South Africa in 1923, which was won by Doris Gwendoline Heliwell with W. J. van Blommestein and Marjorie Elizabeth Cowley as the respective first and second princesses. In 1943, Susie Smuts became the second woman to hold the title.
However, it was Norma Vorster who won the first official Miss South Africa competition in 1956. It was open to white females only.

Miss World 1967
While competing at Miss World 1967, Duivestein revealed that her most unusual experience was having tea with billionaire witch doctor Khotso in his palatial home in Pondoland. On November 10, 1967, she was one of the 45 candidates who posed for the press at Trafalgar Square in London, England, United Kingdom.
More candidates arrived before the coronation ceremony. Duivestein was one of the favorites of the bookmakers on November 15, 1967 along with Eva Englander, then 20, of Sweden and Jennifer Lynn Lewis, then 20, of the U.K.
With a probability of 5-1, Duivestein and Lewis were cited as joint betting favorites by William Hill Ltd., a betting house in London. Englander was the second favorite with a 6-1 rating.
On November 16, 1967, a total of 53 Miss World 1967 candidates competed at the Lyceum Ballroom in London. Both Duivestein and Englander finished in the Top 15.
Lewis was fourth runner-up to Madeleine Hartog-Bel, then 21, of Peru. The respective first, second and third runners-up were María del Carmen Sabaliauskas, then 20, of Argentina, Shakira Baksh, then 20, of Guyana and Dalia Regev, then 22, of Israel.
