On June 6, 2026, Saul Samudio represented Panama at Man of the World 2026 and competed against 27 other candidates at the Palacio de Maynila in Manila, Metro Manila, Philippines. He was unplaced.

Both Samudio and Morales are from David, which is named after King David from the Bible. Sprawled across the lowlands below the towering peaks of the Cordillera Central, the city is the bustling capital of the Chiriquí province and the largest urban epicenter in western Panama. Functioning as a vital frontier crossroads just miles from the Costa Rican border, this fast-growing city serves as the commercial and financial heartbeat of the country’s most productive agricultural region.

While modern shopping malls and a booming banking district define its contemporary expansion, David holds tightly to its deep-seated ranching culture. The city’s identity is shaped by a distinct cowboy heritage, celebrated annually during the massive Feria Internacional de David, which showcases livestock and regional commerce. In the historic Barrio Bolívar, the city’s past remains alive. Here stands the iconic Catedral de San José, featuring a unique, detached bell tower that stands as a historic monument separate from the main church structure.

Beyond its own warm, sun-drenched streets, David operates as the ultimate transit gateway for travelers. Backed by the Enrique Malek International Airport, it connects adventurers directly to the misty coffee plantations of Boquete, the rugged heights of Volcán Barú, and the pristine marine sanctuaries of the Gulf of Chiriquí.
