Baja California has seven municipalities namely Ensenada, Mexicali, Tecate, Tijuana, Rosarito, San Quintín and San Felipe. In May 2026, Arends traveled from Mexicali to La Rumorosa, Tecate to Ensenada.

Occupying the northern half of the elongated Baja California peninsula, the Mexican state of Baja California is a dynamic territory bounded by the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortés. Home to over 3.7 million residents, it features a highly varied landscape that shifts from rugged, pine-topped mountain chains like the Sierra de San Pedro Mártir to wide, sun-bleached desert expanses.

Economically, the state functions as a vital industrial powerhouse for Mexico. Its primary urban center, Tijuana, shares one of the busiest land border crossings in the world with San Diego, California. This strategic proximity fuels a massive export-oriented manufacturing sector (maquiladora), alongside rising investments in aerospace and electronics assembly.

Beyond heavy industry, Baja California is internationally recognized for its unique agricultural and culinary contributions. The Mediterranean-style climate of the northwest supports the Guadalupe Valley near Ensenada, which generates roughly 90% of Mexico’s domestic wine production. Paired with a booming craft beer movement and a famous “Baja Med” seafood dining scene, the region attracts millions of gastronomy and eco-tourists annually. Striking a unique balance between fast-paced cross-border commerce and laid-back coastal culture, the state remains a critical pillar of Mexican development.

Including Baja California, Mexico has 31 states. The others are Aguascalientes, Baja California Sur, Campeche, Chiapas, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Colima, Durango, Guanajuato, Guerrero, Hidalgo, Jalisco, Michoacán, Morelos, Nayarit, Nuevo León, Oaxaca, Puebla, Querétaro, Quintana Roo, San Luis Potosí, Sinaloa, Sonora, the State of Mexico, Tabasco, Tamaulipas, Tlaxcala, Veracruz, Yucatán, and Zacatecas.

Born in Teapa, Tabasco, Bosch turned 26 on May 19, 2026. Originally from Savaneta, Aruba, Arends will turn 30 on December 25, 2026.
