The beauty pageant journey of Miss Universe Bangladesh 2025 Tangia Zaman Methila (তানজিয়া জামান মিথিলা) may be over but her acting career is just beginning. She is in the cast of the romantic musical film “Rockstar”, her first Bangla film.
“Rockstar“
Written by Nusraat Mati and directed by Azman Rusho, “Rockstar was released in Bangladesh on May 28, 2026. It stars Shakib Khan, Sabila Nur and Methila.
Born and raised in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Methila attended the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh in Mohammadpur, Dhaka. She turned 34 on January 31, 2026.
Born in Ragadhi, Muksudpur, Gopalganj, Bangladesh, Khan is a practicing sunni Muslim. He turned 47 on March 28, 2026.
Born in Chittagong, Bangladesh, Nur graduated from the American International University-Bangladesh in Dhaka in 2023. She turned 31 on May 27, 2026.
In “Rockstar”, Khan played the lead role Agun. Shayan Mirza played the teenage version of the character.
Sabila Nur played Agun’s love interest Meera while Methila played a model named Elena. Also in the cast were Tariq Anam Khan as Agun’s father Ustad Junayed, Rosy Siddique as Agun’s mother Shabnam and Kazi Sabir as Agun’s manager and friend Aslam.
Abdul Mamun was the cinematographer of the film, which was edited by Anis Masud. On March 24, 2026, principal photography began in Malaysia.
Miss Universe 2025
On April 3, 2021, Methila competed against nine other Miss Universe Bangladesh 2020 finalists at the Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden in Dhaka and won the title. She was crowned by Bollywood actress Chitrangda Singh.
Methila was supposed to represented Bangladesh at Miss Universe 2020 but she withdrew from the competition before the coronation ceremony at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Broward County, Florida, United States on May 16, 2021. She played Husnaara in “Rohingya – People from Nowhere”, which was released on December 1, 2021.
On December 3, 2022, Methila was named the International Female Model of the Year at the British Bangladesh Fashion and Lifestyle Awards 2022 at The Tower Hotel in London, England, United Kingdom. On September 18, 2025, she was officially appointed and crowned Miss Universe Bangladesh 2025 at Aloki Green House at Tejgaon in Dhaka.
On November 21, 2025, Methila represented Bangladesh at Miss Universe 2025 and competed against 117 other candidates at the Impact Challenger in Pak Kret, Nonthaburi, Thailand. She finished in the Top 30, marking the first Miss Universe placement of her home country.
On November 27, 2025, the Bangladeshi mystery thriller film “Thursday Night” was released on Chorki. It starred Methila alongside Farrukh Ahmed Rehan, Samira Khan Mahi and Shoumya Joyti.
