Ultimate Fighting Championship fighter Alex Pereira, 38, of Brazil is set to make his acting debut. He is in the cast of the upcoming action thriller film “Onslaught”.

Before joining the UFC, Pereira competed in Jungle Fight and Legacy Fighting Alliance. He made his professional kickboxing debut on March 31, 2012 and his professional mixed martial arts debut on March 31, 2012.

“Onslaught“

Written by Simon Barrett and directed by Adam Wingard, “Onslaught” stars Adria Arjona as an army sniper soldier named Celeste. The character struggles to protect her young daughter from an army of genetically engineered super-soldiers who escaped from a secret military facility.

Pereira plays the Butcher in the film. Details about the character have yet to be released.

Joining Arjona and Pereira in the cast are Blake Kennedy, Christian Calloway, Dan Stevens, Drew Starkey, Eric Warehei, Jacob Scipio, Jesse La Flair, Keil Oakley Zepernick, L.C. Holt, Leon M. Brown, Malik Watson, Michael Biehn, Rebecca Hall, Reginald VelJohnson, Sarah Minnich, Steven Kekoa Shelby and MMA fighter Maurice Greene. Born in Norfolk, Virginia, United States, Greene competed in the UFC from 2018 to 2021.

Born in London, England, United Kingdom, Stevens turned 43 on October 10, 2025. Born in São Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo, Brazil, Pereira will turn 39 on July 7, 2026.

Stevens plays a German scientist in the film, which will be released by A24 in the U.S. on September 4, 2026. Principal photography started in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA in November 2024.

“UFC Freedom 250“

On June 14, 2026, Pereira and Ciryl Gane will co-headline “UFC Freedom” on the South Lawn of the White House in Washington, D.C., USA. It is the first ever combat sports event held at the official residence and workplace of the country’s president.

Pereira and Gane will compete for the interim UFC Heavyweight Championship title. Tom Aspinall has been the undisputed UFC Heavyweight Champion since June 21, 2025.

If Pereira wins, he will make history as the first MMA fighter to win titles in three divisions in the UFC. He is a former middleweight champion and the reigning light heavyweight champion of the promotion.

In the main event, Justin Gaethje will challenge UFC Lightweight Champion Ilia Topuria. The challenger is the interim UFC Lightweight Champion.
