Keith McKendree Mitchell, a resident of Sea Island, Georgia, United States, competed in the 2026 U.S. Open Championship. Held at the Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, New York, USA from June 18–21, 2026, it was the 126th edition of the national open golf championship of the country and the sixth time it was hosted at the club.

Mitchell and two others tied for fourth. After the tournament, he said “a T4 is a win in my book”.

“I might have not won but I felt like I achieved a lot more than potentially I thought I was going to after about two hours into the round,” Mitchell stated. “I think like I won the week after the start.”

Mitchell attended Baylor School of Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA and the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgiawhere he studied business and real estate. He was born in Chattanooga to Dr. Jerry Mitchell and Cynthia Mitchell.

From 2009 to 2013, Keith’s sister Brindley Mitchell attended the University of St. Andrews in St Andrews, Scotland. He played college golf from 2011 through 2014 and made his professional golf debut in 2014.

Keith is 6’1″ tall. On January 7, 2026, he turned 34.

A field of 156 players, including Keith, started the 2026 U.S. Open. However, tough conditions whittled that number down to 72 by the weekend.
