Representing Argentina in an international beauty pageant is something very familiar to Alina Luz Akselrad. Aside from being a pageant veteran, she is also a journalist, an actor and a model.

Born in Córdoba, Argentina, Akselrad speaks Spanish and English. She is of Moroccan descent and she is 5’10” tall.

Córdoba is known for its historical movements, such as the Cordobazo of May 1969 and La Reforma del ’18. The province is home to the Jesuit Block and Estancias of Córdoba, a collection of buildings and sites named a World Heritage Site in 2000.

Akselrad has been competing in beauty pageants since 2014. She was Reina de la Fiesta Provincial del Olivo 2016 first princess and Miss Mundo Córdoba 2016 third runner-up.

From 2016 to 2018, Akselrad reigned as Reina Regional ONG Vaso de Leche and Reina Nacional de la Frutihorticultura and served as the cultural ambassador of Cordoba. In 2019, she graduated from the Colegio Universitario de Periodismo in Cordoba.

On November 26, 2017, Akselrad represented Argentina at Miss Sudamerica 2017, competed against 11 other candidates in Lima, Peru and won the title. On August 8, 2018, she represented Argentina at World Miss Tourism Ambassador 2018, competed against 49 other candidates in Phatthalung, Thailand and finished in the Top 21.

On October 16, 2019, Akselrad competed against 13 other Miss Universo Argentina 2019 candidates at the Teatro Broadway in Buenos Aires, Argentina and finished in the Top 7. On December 13, 2020, Osmel Sousa appointed her Miss Universe Argentina 2020.

On May 16, 2021, Akselrad represented Argentina at Miss Universe 2020 and competed against 73 other candidates at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida, United States. She finished in the Top 21.

Mario Lopez and Olivia Culpo hosted the coronation ceremony with Demi-Leigh Tebow, Paulina Vega and Cheslie Kryst as commentators . These were the winner and her runners-up:

  • Miss Universe 2020: Andrea Meza (Mexico)
  • 1st runner-up: Julia Gama (Brazil)
  • 2nd runner-up: Janick Maceta (Peru)
  • 3rd runner-up: Adline Castelino (India)
  • 4th runner-up: Kimberly Jimenez (Dominican Republic)

On September 22, 2025, Akselrad turned 27.  On December 26, 2025, she was appointed Miss World Argentina 2026.

On September 5, 2026, Akselrad will represent Argentina at Miss World 2026 in Vietnam. The Córdoba native will compete against more than 100 other candidates including:
