The Montreal Jazz Festival in Montreal, Quebec, Canada bore witness to an unforgettable musical milestone on June 29, 2026. French-Haitian breakout star Naïka stunned her audience by bringing Canadian singer-songwriter Jessie Reyez onto the stage.

The powerhouse duo delivered the debut live performance of the official remix for Naïka’s viral hit, “One Track Mind.” The original track has already achieved massive commercial success, securing a Gold certification in France, accumulating over 11 million music video views, and surpassing 28 million streams. This highly anticipated upcoming remix merges Naïka’s culturally rich soundscapes with Reyez’s signature bilingual delivery and emotional depth.

As the official remix of “One Track Mind” prepares to hit digital streaming platforms, this collaboration stands as a testament to the power of cross-cultural musical synergy, uniting two of the industry’s most distinct, genre-blurring voices.

Naïka’s artistry is deeply informed by her identity as a “third culture kid.” Born Victoria Naika Richard in Miami to a French father and a Haitian mother of Middle Eastern descent, she spent her childhood relocating across Guadeloupe, Vanuatu, Kenya, France, and South Africa. Born in Nairobi, Kenya, David “Nameless” Mathenge, is one of her childhood influences.

This nomadic upbringing exposed Naïka to diverse musical traditions, from tamure classes in Vanuatu to classical piano training in South Africa. She eventually studied performance at Berklee College of Music in in Boston, Massachusetts, United States where she toured with Michael Bolton and developed her self-described “world pop” style—a vibrant fusion of Western pop, R&B, and soul with African, French, and Caribbean rhythms.

Before Naïka’s latest milestone, she built a formidable career through viral breakthroughs and critical nods. She placed second in the BMI John Lennon Foundation Scholarship competition, found early success with her 2017 debut single “Ride,” and captured global attention in 2020 when her TikTok cover of “Don’t Rush” gained over 20 million views. Her music has since been featured in high-profile Apple commercials, and she released her debut studio album, Eclesia, in early 2026.

On March 2, 2025, Naïka turned 31. On June 12, 2026, Reyez turned 35. In collaborating with Reyez, Naïka partners with an equally decorated force in contemporary music.

Born in Toronto to Colombian parents, Reyez rose to fame with her triple-platinum 2016 single “Figures” and her acclaimed debut album “Before Love Came to Kill Us”.

A multi-time Juno Award winner and Grammy nominee, Reyez is also a highly sought-after songwriter, having penned major hits like Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa’s “One Kiss” alongside collaborations with Marshall Bruce “Eminem” Mathers III.
