From Angeles City to the world
Angeles City has rapidly transitioned from its historical identity as a former military base town into a highly competitive, globally recognized urban center. Reflecting its strong economic momentum and exceptional local governance, the city climbed to the 488th spot worldwide in the 2025 Oxford Economics Global Cities Index. This steady ascent marks Angeles as one of only nine Philippine cities to make the cut, evaluated across major parameters including economics, human capital, and quality of life.
Beyond economic metrics, Angeles City has secured a dominant position on the international cultural stage. Renowned as the birthplace of sisig, the city was crowned Asia’s Best Emerging Culinary City Destination at the 2024 World Culinary Awards in Dubai, besting established food capitals like Kyoto and Hanoi. This culinary acclaim has been matched by global educational achievements; the City College of Angeles recently made history as the first institution in the Asia-Pacific region to earn a 5-star International Center of Excellence in Events Management distinction.
With its expanding infrastructure and thriving hospitality scene, Angeles City continues to draw major global conferences and international investors, cementing its legacy as a premier Philippine destination on the world stage.
