Calistee Kalaycioglu, 20, has been officially sashed as the Miss Supranational 2026 candidate of Belgium. The sashing ceremony was held at Hotel Swing in Krakow, Poland on July 14, 2026.
Kalaycioglu is a trainer ballerina of French, Cambodian, and Turkish and she is fluent in three languages. Hailing from Antwerp, Belgium, she is currently in her third year of architecture studies.
From Antwerp to Krakow
Antwerp and Krakow offer distinct European experiences. Antwerp, a Belgian port city, is a sophisticated blend of historic grandeur and modern edge. Known as the world’s diamond hub and a global fashion capital, it balances Baroque artistic legacy—centered on Peter Paul Rubens—with vibrant, trendy neighborhoods and an innovative culinary scene. Its architectural landscape features everything from the stunning, monument-like Central Station to creative, contemporary art spaces.
In contrast, Krakow serves as the cultural heart of Poland. Its allure lies in its exceptionally well-preserved medieval core, which largely escaped the destruction of World War II. The city is defined by the expansive Rynek Główny (Main Market Square) and the regal Wawel Castle. Krakow offers a more traditional, atmospheric journey through Central European history, paired with a lively, high-value nightlife and café culture, particularly in the historic Kazimierz district.
While Antwerp caters to those seeking a polished, fashion-forward urban experience with a modern creative pulse, Krakow excels as a historically immersive destination that is notably more budget-friendly. Both cities, however, promise a rich tapestry of art, history, and unique local character, making them each compelling choices for a European city break.
Miss Supranational 2026
On June 27, 2025, Sophia Sanfilippo represented Belgium at Miss Supranational 2025 and competed against 65 other candidates at the Strzelecki Park Amphitheater in Nowy Sacz, Malopolska, Poland. She was unplaced.
Eduarda Braum of Brazil won the title. The respective first, second, third and fourth runners-up were Anna Lakrini of Germany, Quishantely Leito of Curacao, Tarah Valencia of the Philippines and Valerie Klepadlo of Puerto Rico.
On July 31, 2026, Kalaycioglu will represent Belgium at Miss Supranational 2026 at the Strzelecki Park Amphitheater in Nowy Sacz. It is the 17th edition of the international beauty pageant based in Warsaw, Poland.
