From Battambang to Krakow
Hok is a model and an actor born and raised in Battambang, the fifth most populous province Cambodia. She was supposed to represent the country as Miss Intercontinental 2025 in Egypt but she had to withdraw due to visa complications.
Battambang and Kraków offer distinct cultural experiences rooted in vastly different histories and landscapes. Located in northwest Cambodia, Battambang is the heart of the country’s rice bowl. The province is an agricultural hub is defined by its fertile plains, the Sangker River, and a tranquil, rural atmosphere. Its history is a layered narrative of the Khmer Empire and French colonial influence, visible today in well-preserved shophouses and villas. Known as a center for Khmer arts, the province blends ancient temple ruins with a modern, creative spirit.
In contrast, Kraków is a major European metropolis with over 800,000 residents. As the former royal capital of Poland, it is a city of immense historical weight, featuring a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage-listed Old Town that showcases centuries of Gothic and Renaissance architecture. Kraków serves as a vibrant academic and economic center, balancing its deep-rooted medieval heritage with a dynamic contemporary urban scene.
