Chidania Compère, 24, will represent Haiti in the fourth edition of Miss Charm. This marks the first time the country is participating in the international beauty pageant based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

From Les Cayes to Ho Chi Minh City
Hailing from Les Cayes, Sud, Haiti, Compère attended the inaugural HAIFEX Women’s Entrepreneurship Fair from July 5-6, 2025 in Pétion-Ville. She wore a dress from MeJeanne Couture during the event, which featured almost 70 exhibitors.
Les Cayes and Ho Chi Minh City offer two starkly contrasting urban landscapes, yet both serve as vital, resilient heartbeats within their respective nations. The former reflects the determined endurance of a historic Caribbean port and the latter embodies the fast-paced momentum of a hyper-dynamic Asian megacity.
Located on the southwestern coast of Haiti, Les Cayes is a major port city known for its historic colonial architecture and its role as an agricultural hub. The city anchors the country’s southern peninsula, driving trade in coffee, sugarcane, and vetiver—a root essential for high-end perfumes. Despite facing severe disruptions from hurricanes and earthquakes over the years, the city remains a center of cultural pride, offering a gateway to the pristine beaches of Gelée and serving as a quiet champion of regional Haitian commerce.
In contrast, Ho Chi Minh City is a sprawling, high-octane metropolis in southern Vietnam. Home to over nine million people, it is an economic powerhouse defined by a relentless energy. Skyscrapers rise alongside French colonial landmarks like the Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica, while thousands of motorbikes navigate streets lined with street-food stalls and tech startups.
