Germany will make its Miss International comeback through the participation of Marlene Laura Jose, 21. It is the 64th edition of the international beauty pageant based in Tokyo, Japan.
Representing Germany, Jasmin Selberg won the title in 2022. Her country was not represented again in the competition after her win.
Marlene Jose
Diagnosed with attention deficit disorder (ADD), Jose is passionate about raising awareness for ADD, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and mental health. She works as a real estate agent and a property manager.
Jose grew up in a bilingual household in Neu-Ulm, Swabia, Bavaria, Germany, which is around 623 kilometers away from Berlin, Germany. Her parents, who are divorced, emigrated from the Soviet Union, a transcontinental country that existed from 1922 to 1991.
In Jose’s free time, she enjoys painting, drawing, sewing and volunteering at an animal shelter. Aside from completing her school-leaving certificate in Switzerland, she also attended art school.
Queens of Germany
On April 5, 2025, Jose competed against 20 other Queens of Germany 2025 candidates in Berlin. She finished fourth and was crowned Miss Aura Germany 2025.
On May 23, 2025, Jose represented Germany at Miss Aura International 2025 and competed against 41 other candidates at the Resort Rixos Sungate in Kemer, Antalya, Turkiye. She finished in the Top 11.
On April 26, 2026, Jose competed against 13 other Queens of Germany 2026 candidates in Berlin. She ranked first and was crowned Miss International Germany 2026 by Selberg.
Miss International 2026
On November 25, 2026, Jose will represent Germany at Miss International 2026 at the Tokyo Dome City Hall in Bunkyo, Tokyo. She will compete against more than 80 other candidates including Alessia Surreli, 20, of Albania, Laura Glozarová, 28, of the Czech Republic, Maria Apostolaki, 22, of Greece, Elizaveta Kuznetsova, 26, of Moldova and Laura Dowell, 24, of Spain.
If Jose wins, she will become the fourth Miss International from Germany. Before Selberg’s victory in 2022, the country won the title via Ingrid Finger in 1965 and Iris Klein in 1989.
Selberg was the last beauty queen to represent Germany in Miss International. Silvia Dörre Sanchez and Lara Doval were supposed to represent the country in the competition in 2024 and 2025, respectively, but they both withdrew.
